What is your inner child like? What does it still get excited about?

When we were younger my little sister (so not little anymore) used to get really excited about MY birthday. She would jump up and down saying “Renee-Claude, aren’t you excited?? Your birthday is coming up in 1 MONTH!!!”. Imagine how excited she got for HER birthday! The countdown would start at least 2 months in advance. I, on the other hand, am more calm in my excitement. If you know me really well you’ll know when I’m excited but it’s harder to tell because it’s more of an inward excitement.

What I get excited for these days are holidays and my birthday, but probably not in the way you think… I get excited for Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and my birthday so that I can cook decorative food and experiment with recipes! I find it really fun that food can be a part of the decorations during these celebrations on top of themed centerpieces!

Here is some of what I’ve done in the past couple of years to give you and idea!

Easter Bunny Pancake

Christmas Pinecone Cheeseball

Christmas Cheeseball Bunny

Halloween Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Christmas Veggie Tree

And this is on the list for Easter this year (seams like I really like bunnies haha)!

Easter Bunny Soup Bowl – by The Idea Room

I got so excited when I saw that bunny soup bowl that I thought you might be interested in some Easter and Spring food and décor as well! So I started an Easter and Spring Decor board on Pinterest where I’ll be pinning new ideas every few days for the next five weeks. CLICK HERE to access the board and make sure to follow Mauve Interiors for more décor and design ideas.

P.S. The comment box is a bit finicky and doesn’t have a ‘submit’ button. To post your comment write your message, name, and email and press enter to post. I’m looking for a new comment box that will make it easier to post as I’d love to hear your ideas and comments on this blog!
